on cultural erosion. micropost #3
This is exactly why I make book lists.
To cut through the algorithmic sludge.
To spotlight the titles actually crafted by writers—not manufactured by industry trendspeak or generated by a machine. These books are not created by ‘writers,’ but by artisans.
The artisan uses language to convey depth and meaning rather than rolling out the beats of a plot. They also infuse their work with symbolism, inspiration, intrigue, and thought.
I obsessively collect books and create lists of books that stand apart.
Curated lists are resistance.
They remind us what literature can do.
A good book list is an act of rebellion.
