Welcome to marginalia & co. …

In case you were wondering…marginalia & co. was not created with the intention of building a new ‘culture’ website that reflects trends.

Actually, I was not seeking to create a new website or newsletter at all; I wanted to create a cultural ‘blueprint’ fingerprint on the web—a venue of sorts—that reflects a culture maven perspective that many of us share.

What do I mean by anti-mainstream?

In today’s society, anything that isn’t herd-speak can be classified in a wink as anti-mainstream—regardless of how rational or irrational the points being made by the ‘outsiders’ are.

When I say mainstream and society, I am using the grand-scale words, although I am limiting them to very specific aspects.

  • One, my definition of ‘mainstream‘ solely focuses on the role and presence of ‘culture’ in society, because that ‘mirrors’ and defines what mainstream ‘is’ culturally.
  • And by my use of the word ‘society,’ I am zeroing in on that horrific, memed mindset that seems to be overtaking the majority and that blind insistence on being a part of the mediocrity of a herd that has chosen to ‘evolve’ without thinking.

That being said, in case you are wondering, this site is totally inclusive. We are all one, regardless of our choices and beliefs—and culture is our common legacy as a society—a legacy that will soon be lost to oblivion for a myriad of reasons.

Okay. So…Welcome to marginalia & co..

I am Sosanni, the person to blame for this project, and what you read above is as serious as my journal entries get. (We all have our moments.)

Speaking of moments, I have quite a few to share because I am about to fill a few entries in my journals with a few thoughts…needing to air them out, like laundry. Yes, journals—it wasn’t a typo. I am obsessed with journals. I keep many. Seven, actually, if you include my sketchbook. I have them separated by topic.

NO, I am not neurotic—lol, my keeping a series of journals is the only organized aspect of my atelier…and it keeps my ‘thoughts’ in order because I am all over the place creatively.

More on my dossiers in another entry…

BTW…Never judge anyone by their journal entries or their online search history…if you had any idea what writers jot in their journals or need to search for their work, you would rethink all that you thought of creatives and especially writers, but we’re not as weird as we might appear. 🙃 😉
