The ‘about’ page

I am a writer who also loves art and collecting ‘things’.

The person behind the writer/artist/’collector’?

I am an overcaffeinated gastronaut, artist, aesthete, culture freak, history buff, and unapologetic collector of recipes, quotes and gorgeous lines from books.

I have been writing books for decades.

I write across genres because my fiction sprawls into the territories of many genres, and choosing one is too confining. Labels in general have never been my strong suit. Genres, categories, definitions—they can be useful, but they can also become muzzles and shackles. I prefer things that spill over the edges.

More of my interests? I am restless creative, a bit outside the box, with a penchant for carbs, classical literature, the works of Matisse, double lattes, houseplants, 70s music, and creating fictional worlds and characters.

My motto: Normal gets boring.

I’m fascinated by human nature. The phenomenon of the human experience. What people hide. What they reveal. The lives they perform and the lives they actually live. Culture, identity, desire, power, absurdity, beauty—and all the ways we experience that glorious, mind-blowing phenomenon and gift of being human.
